Last Saturday, No. 8 University of Alabama pulled off a shocking upset

by defeating No. 1 University of Georgia in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

This has left the four-team College Football Playoff landscape in shambles.

The Crimson Tide (12-1, 9-game SEC win streak) earned the win thanks to its defense,

and held up a season-low scoring performance from the previously explosive offensive Bulldogs

(12-1, 8-game winning streak in ESC).

University of Alabama coach Nick Saban has won three games against University of Georgia coach Kirby Smart

in the SEC Championship Game, giving him nine consecutive championship game wins.

The Tide also has won five straight against the No. 1 team in the CFP rankings.

The loss ended the University of Georgia's 29-game winning streak, the third-longest in FBS history since 1973,

and effectively ended its chances of winning a third straight national championship.

Alabama's offense took the lead with a 9-play, 75-yard drive with 5 minutes,

47 seconds left in the game to make the score 27-17.

Quarterback Jalen Milo started the game with an 0-4 passing percentage, but was solid after that,

scoring two passing touchdowns against the University of Georgia defense.

That's a feat from a Georgia defense that hasn't faced such a dynamic quarterback nearly all season.

The University of Georgia, the two-time champion, scored early and looked to remain undefeated,

but then Alabama's defense suffered injuries and overwhelmed their offense.
